ORDINARY PORTLAND CEMENT (OPC)

Properties of OPC

  • ♦ It’s compressive strength is consistently and significantly above the ES EN standards
  • ♦ It has low alkali content therefore; it is classified as low alkali cement
  • ♦ It has high heat of hydration which makes it suitable for OPC in use of dams and canals
  • ♦ It is used for high structural concrete mix design by using  minimum  amount

PORTLAND POZOLANA CEMENT CEMENT (PPC)​

Properties of PPC

  • ♦ Its early strength is lower
  • ♦ It has higher work-ability
  • ♦ Has lower heat of hydration
  • ♦ It improves durability
  • ♦ It protects steel reinforcement from corrosion
  • ♦ It demands lower amount of water
  • ♦ It increases resistance to chloride ion and sulfate attack
  • ♦ It reduces creeps, cracks, permeability, voids, and other micro cracks
  • ♦ It increases abrasion resistance

PORTLAND LIMESTONE CEMENT (PLC)

Properties of PLC

              When compared with PPC & OPC

  • ♦ It reduces energy consumption
  • ♦ It reduces the void space of concrete
  • ♦ It improves  water demand, bleeding and work-ability
  • ♦ It is better resistance sulfate attack
  • ♦ It has lower early compressive strength
  • ♦ It Improve plastering quality
  • ♦ It Improve plasticity and cohesion of mortar
  • ♦ It Improves wastage of mortar during plastering
  • ♦ It Improves surface regularity of screeds  
  • ♦ It Reduces environmental impact by reducing level CO2emissions

Low Heat High Sulfate Resistant Cement CEMENT TYPE (LHHS)​

Properties of LHHS

  • ♦ It decreases the core temperature of interior of huge concrete element.
  • ♦ It minimizes thermal cracking
  • ♦ Offers excellent resistance to the penetration of both Chloride and Sulfate ions (reinforcement steel cannot be attacked by chlorine ion).

Because of its smaller concrete pore size 

  1. It decreases permeability and diffusion
  2. It decreases thermal expansion, and
  3. It prevents deeper penetration and binding of some deleterious ions

Cement manufacturing Process

The whole process of cement manufacturing in Messebo Cement plant which consists of two separate Cement Production lines can be summarized into the following processes ;as can be seen in the process and Quality flow diagram below;

  1. Quarrying and Crushing
  2. Raw material Storage and Transportation
  3. Proportioning
  4. Raw material Grinding and Transportation
  5. Raw meal storage, homogenization and Kiln feeding
  6. Pyroprocessing (Raw meal preheating, calcination Clinkerization, clinker cooling, crushing) and Clinker storage
  7. Cement grinding and storage
  8. Cement packing and Dispatch
